Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Alexey Orlov attended the closing of the Cup of the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia on fishing, which was held by Federation of Fishing Sport of the Republic of Kalmykia (President – Erdni Tsatkhaev) in Yashkul district, on Lake Kanurka.

She thought of leaving – to find out what it might be to escape the infinite expanse of her dreary small world. But she didn’t dare; instead she stays and withdraws into herself, unconcerned by who might see.

Venerable Prof. Samdhong visit Russian Federation, Republic of Kalmykia and Buryat Republic, reported Central Tibetan Administration (Dharamsala).
Former Kalon Tripa Venerable Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche visited Elista, the capital of Kalmyk Republic, from 3-6 June at the invitation extended by Shadjin (Head) Lama of Kalmykia and President of Kalmyk Buddhist Union, Rev. Telo Tulku Rinpoche, and former Prime Minster of Kalmyk Republic, Mr.Vladimir Sengleev, reported Central Tibetan Administration. On December 17, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Breeding Russian Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting of expert committees on the issue of access to the use of advances in animal breeding under the chairmanship of Director of Vladimir Labinov, reported KalmykiaNews agency.
