No, a horse should not gallop very flat and not uphill. A proper gallop should have a sense of uphill balance and impulsion, with the horse engaging its hindquarters and lifting its front end. Galloping flat can lead to a lack of power and balance, making it more difficult for the horse to maintain speed and agility. It is important for a horse to gallop with a sense of uphill movement in order to perform at its best and prevent strain or injury. **

No, a horse that trots very flat and not uphill is not ideal. A horse should ideally trot with impulsion and engagement, moving uphill with its hindquarters engaged and its front end light. A flat trot can indicate a lack of engagement and collection, which can affect the horse's balance, athleticism, and overall performance. Working on exercises to improve the horse's engagement and collection can help develop a more uphill trot. **

The choice between a flat or helix design depends on the specific application and requirements. A flat design may be more suitable for applications where space is limited and a low profile is needed. On the other hand, a helix design may be preferred for applications where a higher torque or power transmission is required, as the helical shape provides more contact area and can handle higher loads. Ultimately, the decision should be based on the specific needs and constraints of the application. **
