In Serbian culture, a funeral typically begins with a wake, where friends and family gather to pay their respects to the deceased. The body is usually displayed in an open casket, and mourners may bring flowers or other offerings. The funeral service itself often takes place in a church, where prayers and hymns are recited. After the service, the body is taken to the cemetery for burial, and a meal is often shared by the mourners to honor the memory of the deceased. Throughout the process, it is common for mourners to express their grief openly and to offer support to one another. **
